Our Rich History
The Harrisburg Regional Chamber was founded in 1884 as the Harrisburg Board of Trade. In 1913, it was decided that the organization should be formally incorporated as a Chamber of Commerce and by 1914 that official designation was given to the organization. Though names have changed, the concept and objectives have remained constant throughout the organization’s entire history.
Recognized as one of the largest, most dynamic organizations of its kind, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation has combined a unique blend of business, community, and economic development services under one roof to improve the region’s economic vitality and quality of life.
Accreditation
Our organization is the only Chamber of Commerce in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties to receive the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 5-Star Accreditation—a level achieved by only 5 percent of chambers across the nation.
