Pennsylvania’s Business Climate Continues to Improve

Site Selection Magazine recently ranked Pennsylvania as having the 11th best business climate in the country and the top business climate in the Northeast. This ranking represents a seven-spot improvement from Site Selection’s 2024 list and signals growing momentum across the state. As a result, Pennsylvania’s focus on pro-growth policies and economic strategies is gaining national attention.

When developing its rankings, Site Selection Magazine evaluates several key factors. These include tax climate, job growth, and the number of fast-growing companies operating in each state. In addition, Pennsylvania ranked 8th nationally for the number of Inc. 5000 companies, which represent the fastest-growing private businesses in the country.

These results also align with recent findings from Moody’s Analytics. In a separate analysis, Chief Economist Mark Zandi identified Pennsylvania as the only state in the Northeast with a growing economy. Together, these rankings highlight the state’s strengthening economic position within the region.
