Hidden Still PIDA loan closing

PIDA Loan Fuels Major Expansion for Hidden Still Distillery in Hershey

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) successfully closed a $2 million PIDA loan on June 26, 2025. The loan will support the expansion of Hidden Still Distillery in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Founded by David Stein in 2014, Hidden Still is one of the largest producers of Pennsylvania craft straight bourbon whiskey, according to the company’s website. It started as a small operation in Lebanon County and has grown into a fast-moving manufacturing business with a statewide footprint and expanding wholesale network.

The Hershey facility functions as a distillery, full-service restaurant, and brand experience center. It strengthens the company’s presence in the market and helps boost regional tourism and visibility.

The $8 million expansion project secures Hidden Still’s future in Derry Township through the purchase and renovation of a property the company had previously leased. Planned improvements include updates to the kitchen, office space, and production areas. These upgrades will help the business meet growing demand and support future growth.

With funding from CREDC, M&T Bank, and private equity, the investment positions Hidden Still for continued success and national expansion.

The project commits to retaining 27 full-time jobs and adding three new positions at minimum. It highlights Hidden Still’s impact as a local employer and a key player in Pennsylvania’s manufacturing economy.

CREDC congratulates Hidden Still Distillery on this major milestone and remains proud to support the commonwealth’s manufacturing sector through long-term, fixed-rate financing.
