Harrisburg, Pa. – The Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) is thrilled to announce the closing of a PA Catalyst Loan Fund project for Thrive Fit Co., a fitness and wellness studio in Camp Hill, Pa. This project reflects CREDC’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing community health through strategic investment.
Founded by Ashley Mentzer, Thrive Fit Co. is a vibrant fitness studio offering small group classes, personal training, and nutrition coaching. Known for its inclusive approach and innovative events, Thrive Fit Co. has become a cornerstone for health and wellness in Camp Hill Borough. With a total project cost of $276,330, CREDC’s loan of $129,500 from the PA Catalyst Loan Fund provided critical support for the purchase and renovation of an existing building, enabling the creation of a comprehensive wellness hub.
This project marked the final disbursement of the first tranche of SSBCI funds available in the nine-county region. CREDC’s role as the Certified Economic Development Organization (CEDO) was pivotal in securing this funding and driving the project to completion. The loan closed on Sept. 13, 2024, in partnership with First National Bank, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to empowering local businesses and strengthening the regional economy.
Ashley Mentzer’s journey from organizing free workouts to leading a thriving wellness studio epitomizes the entrepreneurial spirit. Her story highlights the impact of CREDC’s support, not just on business growth but also on the vitality of the communities it serves. Thrive Fit Co.’s success will undoubtedly contribute to the economic and social fabric of Camp Hill, fostering growth and wellness for years to come.
CREDC is part of a multi-county partnership which applied for PA State Small Business Credit Initiative funding in 2022. Led by Chester County Economic Development Council, the partnership also consists of Lebanon Valley EDC, Greater Berks Development Fund, Bucks County EDC, and Delaware County Economic Development Oversight Board. This forward-thinking collaborative approach resulted in the partnership receiving the largest funding award of any Certified Economic Development Organization group in the Commonwealth. Together this group has branded the revolving loan fund seeded by SSBCI money as the Pennsylvania Catalyst Loan Fund.
