CREDC is proud to highlight two recently completed projects that have made a significant impact on the Hershey and Harrisburg communities: the Hidden Still Distillery and the Atlas Building. Both projects, completed with the help of Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funding, have not only helped to revitalize their respective locations but have also contributed to the economic development of their communities.
Hidden Still Distillery Expansion
Located in Hershey, the Hidden Still Distillery underwent major construction to expand its restaurant and distillery services. Using $1,500,000 in RACP funds, the total project cost reached $3,291,586. This expansion allowed Hidden Still to increase its production capacity while enhancing its restaurant setting, directly benefiting the Hershey community. Not only did this project provide new employment opportunities, but it also bolstered the distillery’s ability to cater to both locals and visitors, further contributing to the town’s reputation as a tourist destination. The project’s success reflects the synergy between local businesses and community development, driving economic growth and expanding local services.

Atlas Building Revitalization
In Harrisburg, the Atlas Building, once a blighted structure, underwent extensive renovations to restore its historic charm and bring it into the modern era. The building saw significant restorations to its façade, and improvements to its roof and interior. This redevelopment project addressed both structural concerns and aesthetic deterioration. With $3,400,000 in RACP funding and a total project cost of $7,037,852, the revitalization secured the building’s future, preserving an important piece of Harrisburg’s architectural history. This project has ensured the building is not only safe but also an attractive feature in the city, blending its rich historical elements with modern-day enhancements.

Community Impact
Both RACP projects have played essential roles in community and economic development. Hidden Still Distillery’s expansion has increased local employment, diversified service offerings, and drawn more attention to Hershey as a destination. Meanwhile, the Atlas Building’s transformation has revived a previously deteriorated structure, securing its place in Harrisburg’s urban landscape. These projects exemplify how local development, backed by CREDC and RACP funding, can catalyze long-lasting, positive change in the region.
CREDC is honored to have supported these projects and remains committed to fostering future growth that benefits communities throughout the Harrisburg region.
