Central PA Food Bank Highlights Growing Food Insecurity Across the Region

At November’s Policy Pulse Speaker Series, attendees heard from Central Pennsylvania Food Bank leaders Shila Ulrich and Zachary Zook. They spoke about how federal budget impasses and rising food insecurity are affecting our region.

During the discussion, they outlined key policy issues, shared current data trends, and explained how the Food Bank is supporting families during the pause in federal SNAP funding.

The Central PA Food Bank has already invested more than $500,000 in additional food orders and agency partner grants. It is also administering another $1 million in emergency funds from the Governor to boost purchasing and support local partners. The need is unprecedented, and the Food Bank expects to expand its response as this crisis continues.

Additional resources from the Food Bank include:
· Advocacy Action
· Ways to Give
· Learn More About Hunger
