South Central PA Regional D.C. Fly-In

Supporting Regional Businesses in Washington, D. C.

On Wednesday, September 3, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber joined the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, the Lancaster Chamber, the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the York County Economic Alliance for the annual South Central PA Regional D.C. Fly-In.

Together, the group represented 7 counties, 2.2 million residents, and $121.6 billion in GDP. We met with members of the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and several federal agencies. The goal was clear: to advocate for policies and investments that will strengthen the region’s economy.

The delegation focused on key issues such as workforce and immigration, taxes, infrastructure, and energy. During the day, the team held meetings with Senator John Fetterman, Congressman Scott Perry (PA-10), Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-9), and staff from Senator Dave McCormick’s office. In addition, the group spoke with leaders from the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Through these conversations, our Chambers amplified the region’s priorities and made sure they were heard at the highest levels of government. From transportation and infrastructure to energy and business growth, our united voice continues to push South Central PA forward.

About the Harrisburg Regional Chamber

For 140 years, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber has served as the region’s catalyst for economic prosperity. The organization combines business, community, and economic development services to enhance the region’s vitality and livability. The Chamber is a five-star accredited chamber through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce—a distinction held by fewer than 1 percent of chambers nationwide.

The Chamber celebrates a storied history of being the catalyst that moves the city forward. The Chamber answered the call from Mira Lloyd Dock to lead the City Beautiful movement in 1900. Twenty years later, the Chamber spearheaded the effort to bring reliable, modern electricity to the city.
