CREDC’s loan committee is comprised of professionals from various industry sectors. These members are volunteers, generously giving their time and contributing insight respective to their experience and education to CREDC’s staff. This group assembles often with short notice to help align the speed of government loan programs better to the speed of business.
The loan committee’s responsibilities include reviewing the business background, credit analysis, and project information for loan requests to both PIDA (PA Industrial Development Authority) and the Enterprise Zone loan programs. They are the first tier of approval for PIDA loans before each request is packaged and sent to PIDA for their review and final approval. The Enterprise Zone program is CREDC’s revolving loan fund, originally seeded by Enterprise Zone grants from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The members’ varied professional knowledge assists with each unique request. Knowledge of various industries from our committee members adds a strength to CREDC’s capabilities. The industry fields represented by committee members include manufacturing, legal, accounting, banking, insurance, real estate valuation, real estate development, construction, technology, small business advisory services and entrepreneurs.
The Chair of the committee is Ann Leiner, owner of Stacey & Associates, LLC. Her leadership has helped the committee strive to take appropriate risk.
She says, “The Loan Review Committee is a carefully curated group of business leaders whose collective expertise is a valuable asset for CREDC’s staff. Donating their time, each member offers a unique lens through which lending decisions are made to create economic opportunities for the region.”
Melissa, VP of Economic Development for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC, recognizes and thanks this talented committee saying, “The CREDC loan committee has always had a special place in my heart. As a former bank lender, I appreciate the level of detail we analyze for loan requests, and this committee’s vast knowledge aids our team with each project.
