Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Announce 2024 Board Officers, New Board Members

Zack Khuri of Orrstown Bank, named Chamber Board Chair; Katie Clarke of Letort Trust named CREDC Board Chair

Harrisburg, Pa. (January 31, 2024) The Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Board of Directors announced the organization’s 2024 Board Chairs and new board members. Zachary “Zack” Khuri of Orrstown Bank will serve as the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors Chair and Katie Clarke of Letort Trust will serve as the CREDC Board of Directors Chair.

“We are excited to get to work under the leadership of two incredible community servants,” said Ryan C. Unger, President & CEO of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC. “Zack and Katie are passionate about engaging our board and the region’s business community to help us fulfill our mission.”

Khuri joined Orrstown Bank in 2019 to lead the Central Pennsylvania Market as Executive Vice President. In this capacity he manages the bank’s footprint in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, and Franklin Counties.

He has previously served on the boards for the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation, Harrisburg Young Professionals, Harrisburg Rugby Football Club, Harrisburg YMCA, and the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area. Khuri is further engaged in the community as a youth baseball, basketball and football coach.

Khuri is a graduate of Shippensburg University (BA), the Pennsylvania State University (MBA), and the Duke Fuqua School of Business Executive Leadership Program. He lives in Camp Hill with his wife Casey and three children.

“I am honored to be named Chamber Chair,” Khuri said. “For over 130 years the Harrisburg Regional Chamber has been a catalyst for greatness in our region. The Chamber team is writing the next chapter of that legacy, and the business community is squarely behind them. I’m excited represent that community and advance the work of my predecessor’s, notably the strong leadership of Karen Gunnison.”

Clarke is President and CEO of LeTort Trust, a privately owned Trust Company located in Mechanicsburg, PA. As President and CEO, Clarke oversees the executive management of the LeTort Trust business, leadership of the team, representation within the community and oversight of all business operations. In addition, she acts as Managing Principal for LeTort Group LLC, the holding company for LeTort Trust.

Clarke prioritizes commitment to community and leadership through service as a critical part of her role. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of South Central PA, on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week, and on the Central PA Board of Governors for Valley Youth House. She also serves on the board and currently chairs the United Way Foundation.

Clarke graduated from James Madison University with a B.B.A. in Business Management and Marketing. She joined the LeTort organization in 1998, and in in 2011, Clarke helped establish and serve as Secretary of the Atgooth Foundation, a private foundation funded by the profits of LeTort Trust and primarily focused on providing financial literacy and educational opportunity to the youth of our community.

“As a passionate supporter of the work that CREDC does to advance our region, I’m thrilled to be stepping into the role of Board Chair,” Clarke shared. “I believe that all local businesses benefit, whether directly or indirectly, from the economic and workforce development work being done.   My goal is to help deliver this message to our business community and grow the critically needed support.”

The additional slate of 2024 Harrisburg Regional Chamber officers is as follows:

The additional slate of 2024 CREDC officers is as follows:

  • 2nd Vice Chair: Beth Peiffer, Ralph E. Jones, Inc.
  • Treasurer: Betsy Hamm, Duck Donuts
  • Secretary: Jeff Smith, Alexander Building Construction
