SUMMERDALE, Pa. (April 5, 2023) How do you like your learning?
In big blocks of time, with lessons you can race through? Or in smaller, slow-released doses of information?
Whether your lifestyle and learning style demand a faster or slower pace, Central Penn College is unveiling a new program called Self-Paced Enhancement, Education and Development (SPEED), allowing professionals to take relevant, customized courses at their own pace and on their own time.
The accelerated program modules allow students to enhance their skills in one, two, three or all four categories:
- Decision-Making Skills
- Conflict Management
- Communication Skills for Managers and
- Performance Management
The accredited, 141-year-old private college is now running a half-price special, wherein SPEED courses can be taken for only $249 each. The entire series can be purchased for a discounted price of $750. Those who complete the non-credit series will be awarded a certificate of completion.
More learning modules will be released soon. Plans to unveil an Occupational Therapy, Organizational Leadership, Social Media Presence, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) module are in the works.
Curtis Voelker, Director of the College’s Center for Workforce Excellence, said the college will also custom-build a program for companies, if they’d like their employees to study a specific topic that is not currently offered.
College officials emphasize that the courses are taught by respected local professors with real-world experience. Instructors are accessible if students need help, and possess broad, top-tier experience in both academia and business, along with a willingness to make a tangible difference.
Students already in the work force who have become aware of gaps in their professional skill set are welcome to enhance their capabilities in an effective and easily accessible manner that is as close as their keyboard, Voelker said.
