Zachman Named Corporate Business Development Director

Drawn by Gannett Fleming’s innovative and inclusive culture, Shawna Zachman has joined the firm as its first corporate business development director.

“Shawna has a proven track record in setting successful pursuit strategy while also exemplifying a commitment to employee mentoring,” said Paul Nowicki, PE, president and COO. “Gannett Fleming employees are the key to our success, so we look for dynamic leaders like Shawna who are committed to their development as a critical component to moving our business forward.”
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Zachman most recently led business development, marketing, and creative services support for the water and program management business lines at Stantec, a global infrastructure firm with more than 22,000 employees. Focused on organic growth, Zachman specialized in capturing new contracts that would not only build backlog but continue to advance the iconic brand. Over the course of her career, she has worked in the transportation, earth sciences, oil and gas, power, and water sectors. She is passionate about business development framework and leading creative teams.

“Gannett Fleming’s work improves the world in which we live, and I am proud to join the team that is making that happen every day for the clients and communities it serves,” Zachman said. “Gannett Fleming has a reputation for delivering excellence while advancing a strong long-term vision, which is clearly demonstrated in its recent acquisitions and focus on innovation. I look forward to guiding the business development team into the firm’s next era of continued growth.”

Zachman earned her Bachelor of Arts in mass communications from the University of Northern Colorado, where she has returned to speak on panels about marketing and communications. She has spoken at International Women’s Day panels for both MWH and Stantec. Zachman also is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
