On August 21, Wohlsen Construction and two investment subsidiaries of Kutztown University Foundation, Ursus Aureus and Gold Bear Ventures, broke ground on the 100-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Kutztown, PA.
Designed by KCBA Architects, this 64,000-square-foot hotel will stand four stories high and will feature an indoor pool, fitness room, and two conference rooms. Located just a half-mile from Kutztown University’s campus, the hotel will serve visitors to the university, Berks and Lehigh Valley business travelers, and those participating in the various regional events and attractions.
In addition to providing convenient, affordable accommodations, the Kutztown University Foundation will use the property’s income to fund scholarships and support the university and its students.
The Hampton Inn and Suites is the first nationally branded hotel in the area and is located on the former site of the Campus Inn. The project is scheduled to complete in the Summer of 2019.
