Whitaker Center Honors Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz’s Adriann Reed As the Advocate Honoree at the Inaugural Women in STEM Awards

Whitaker Center recently announced its inaugural Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Award winners. Adriann Reed, Senior Manager at Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF), was selected as the Advocate honoree. The Advocate category recognizes a woman who serves as a mentor to women and girls and has aided them to excel in STEM.

Adriann has over 12 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in litigation, valuation consulting, forensic accounting and collaborative practice services. She is one of only two Managers at BSSF who hold the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators (NACVA), and she is the only member of the Firm who holds a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

“Adriann has long exemplified a level of commitment to mentoring women and girls in STEM – not only here at BSSF, but also within her community,” said Ken Wolfe, President and Managing Principal of BSSF. “She is an inspiring career counselor to several of our younger female team members who are hoping to follow in her footsteps. She is also an incredible support to a number of nonprofit organizations that strive to empower women and girls in our region. She is well-deserving of this award, and we are proud and excited to honor and celebrate Adriann at the Women in STEM Awards Luncheon on September 12.”

Nine women and one organization were selected by Whitaker Center for their significant contributions to the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

“We’re very excited about the incredible response we’ve had to our inaugural Women in STEM Awards Luncheon,” said Michele Holloway, Vice President of Development at Whitaker Center. “From the many nominations received from family, friends, and coworkers to the number of sponsors who have committed to helping us increase the reach of our Girls in STEM Initiative, to the exciting announcement of our keynote speaker, Christina Lowery, CEO of Girls Rising, we couldn’t be happier to honor the outstanding women in Central PA who continue to forge the STEM path for girls everywhere.”

The Women in STEM Awards Luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 12, on the stage inside Whitaker Center’s Sunoco Performance Theater, located at 222 Market Street in Harrisburg. The event benefits Whitaker Center’s Girls in STEM initiative, which empowers girls to know they are strong enough to change the world.
