HARRISBURG (May 16, 2016) The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (Chamber & CREDC), in partnership with The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, Harrisburg Area Community College, SCPa Works, United Way of the Capital Region, and WITF present Proven Paths to Better Employees, Thursday, May 26th, 8am-10:30am at Central Penn College (600 Valley Road, Summerdale).

 

What is a family-friendly workplace?  How does being a family-friendly employer positively affect early childhood education?  This informational breakfast session will allow attendees to discover the answers.  Attendees will also uncover the ways businesses can help ensure and sustain a motivated and productive workforce.
Lori Alderman of The PNC Financial Services Group will present on the company’s Grow Up Great program, a $350 million, multi‐year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.  Then Scott LaMar of WITF will moderate a panel discussion on Family-Friendly Policies: Employer Best Practices.  Panelists include:

– Stephanie Doliverira, Vice President of Human Resources – Sheetz Inc.

– Trevin Shirey, Business Development ManagerWebPageFX

– Andy Williford, Vice President of HR OperationsVolvo Construction Equipment
Attendees will be asked to complete a self-assessment on the family-friendly policies already in place at their workplaces, as well as the policies they would be willing to enact.
