Harrisburg’s newest cell phone company is hosting a community drive to benefit Harrisburg families in need. Verizon Prepaid, located in the Giant Food Store shopping Center in Union Deposit, is now accepting donations of non-perishable foods to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg. The community drive coordinates with Verizon Prepaid’s Grand Opening; to be held on Saturday, Nov. 3rd from 12pm to 4pm. Individuals may drop off any donations up until that time.
On Nov. 5th , Verizon Prepaid’s ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place noon. During this event, the company will present to RiseUp, a Harrisburg-based non-profit organization, all winter clothing donated to Verizon Prepaid. The clothing drive will be an ongoing effort to assist members of the Harrisburg community in need.
Verizon Prepaid is Harrisburg’s premier cell phone company, and the only of its kind in the Central PA area. The establishment opened its doors for business in early October 2018. It is operated by Starr B. Brown of Harrisburg.
