Thrive Fit Co, Harrisburg’s first boxing-inspired group fitness studio, announces its grand opening at the Historic King Mansion in Harrisburg

Harrisburg residents can now fine tune their knockout punch with the grand opening of Harrisburg’s very first boutique boxing-inspired group fitness studio, Thrive Fit Co. Thrive Fit Co opens its first location this September 25th at the historic King Mansion on 2201 N. Front Street, Harrisburg, looking out over the beautiful Susquehanna River and along Front Street Park.

Thrive Fit Co offers a variety of boutique group fitness classes sure to keep members excited and motivated, such as boxing-inspired group fitness classes, Bootcamp classes, HIIT circuits and Personal Training.

The highly popular boxing-inspired group fitness classes are 45 minutes, 9 Rounds, full-body strength training and conditioning workouts crafted around specially designed water-filled, teardrop-style punching bags. Bootcamps focus on strength and conditioning to tone your muscles and physique. The music blends relevant music in hip-hop and house with timeless classics.

Thrive Fit Co is founded by Ashley Mentzer, a certified group fitness trainer, marathon runner and half IRONMAN. Mentzer’s hope for the studio is to contribute to the rapid revitalization of the city of Harrisburg, hoping to offer health and wellness education and create an uplifting fitness community. This community, known as the “Thrive Tribe,” has been carefully crafted by Mentzer.

When asked about the importance of community, founder Ashley Mentzer quotes the popular African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Mentzer carefully connects peers with like-minded goals, sets them on a personalized plan, and encourages them to work together, cheering one another on for positive accountability. “Having a positive relationship with fitness is the key to sustainable health, and there is no better way to build that than by helping new Thrive members build positive relationships with the rest of the Tribe. The positive relationship will happen by proxy” says Mentzer.

Mentzer has a history of giving back. For years she has been running donation-based community classes on the Capitol steps with all proceeds going to various charities. Most notably, Mentzer is the founder of Central PA’s biggest fitness festival, Thrive Fit Fest, where 30% of the proceeds were donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
