Harrisburg, Pa. (July 2, 2018) – The Pennsylvania Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Network (PAIRWN) was established in 2001 as a non-profit organization located in central Pennsylvania working to provide culturally specific services to immigrant and refugee women in its area. For the past seventeen years, PAIRWN worked as a grassroots organization to honor and enhance the lives of refugee and immigrant women in Pennsylvania through education, networking, and empowerment. Throughout these past two decades, PAIRWN has worked out of homes and public spaces, but now, it’s excited to reveal a new location to call its own.
PAIRWN has secured an office space to provide its women with a more permanent communal home. PAIRWN will host a Grand Opening event on July 18 featuring a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 12:00 PM. This office space will be used to provide enhanced and expanded services to immigrant and refugee women who have been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking in the central Pennsylvania area through support, personalized coaching, and advocacy. PAIRWN also provides services to the broader immigrant and refugee community through education, networking, and referrals.
