Support Needed for Certified Nursing Assistant Programs
On: October 6, 2016 Filed Under: Member News
The Capital Region Partnership for Career Development (CRPCD) needs has announced a need for assistance to support Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) programs in the region. Currently, a small number of regional school districts are able to provide scholarship support to high school students interested in this important career path.
“Currently, only 25% of the school districts and educational entities we serve in Cumberland County are eligible for CNA scholarships. Regionally, only 15% of our school districts and entities qualify for regular support,” noted Executive Director Lynda Morris.
“Due to a lack of funding,” Morris continued, “we were forced to cancel the program last year on the East Shore. We are hoping to get some support this year from organizations and individuals who would like to see this program continue to be offered as a viable career path in our regional high schools.”
The Partnership for Career Development works to build a system of K-12 career education, increase awareness of post-secondary training and education opportunities, and strengthen workforce development in the Pennsylvania Capital Region. CRPCD is a registered 501c-3 non-profit, tax exempt public charity.
