LEMOYNE, PA (December 6, 2016) – Greg Rothman, the president and CEO of Central Pennsylvania-based RSR, REALTORS® and State Representative for the 87th District, has been inducted into the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors® (GHAR) Hall of Fame.
Rothman is the 17th inductee to the GHAR Hall of Fame, established to recognize the lifetime achievements of individuals involved in or having influenced the real estate industry. To qualify for the GHAR Hall of Fame, inductees must have a decade or more of involvement in the real estate industry as a Realtor®, educator, elected official or civic leader.
In inducting Rothman this month, GHAR President Jodi Diego cited his 26-year involvement with the association, including teaching continuing education classes and service as GHAR president in 2004.
“I’m both humbled and honored to be inducted into the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors’ Hall of Fame,’’ said Rothman, who heads the company founded by his father, Bill, in 1970. “I became a Realtor in 1989 and I’ve always been grateful for the opportunity to be part of an industry that has been so good to my whole family and me.’’
Bill Rothman was inducted into the GHAR’s Hall of Fame in 2011, and Greg Rothman’s selection marked the first time two members of the same family have received the honor. Rothman’s younger brother, Garrett, has ranked among the top residential agents in Central Pennsylvania and now serves as RSR’s broker of record, a position held by Greg Rothman for more than 10 years.
Before being elected to represent the 87th District in 2015, Rothman served as vice-chairman of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission. The commission is the chief regulatory body with jurisdiction over the more than 60,000 licensed real estate brokers, salespersons, cemetery salespersons, builder-owner salespersons, and real estate education providers.
A veteran of the Marine Corps Reserve, Rothman also served as chairman of the Cumberland County GOP and was one of the founders of the Harrisburg Young Professionals.
