Skelly and Loy Announces Three New Hires

Skelly and Loy welcomes Thomas “Tommy” Swartz to its Geo-Environmental Services Group.
Mr. Swartz is an Environmental Specialist responsible for site evaluations, research, field sampling, and technical report preparation for all phases of Environmental Site Assessments. He has experience in environmental sampling, reporting, environmental hazardous material emergency response, and operation of various equipment. Mr. Swartz is currently working on PA Turnpike Commission storage tank monitoring; PennDOT rapid response investigations; and a private storage tank project in Franklin County.
Mr. Swartz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in GeoEnvironmental Studies and a Geographic Information Systems Certificate from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He was bestowed with a 2016 Academic Excellence Award for Shippensburg University Student Athletes.
Skelly and Loy welcomes Kathleen E. Grkman, Environmental Scientist to its staff. Ms. Grkman will assist in wetland delineations and threatened and endangered species studies, prepare environmental permit packages and technical reports, and monitor environmental permit compliance. She is currently working on an Aquatic Resources Report for a bridge replacement in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, and data collection for an upcoming cave and portal survey in West Virginia.
Ms. Grkman’s work experience is primarily in the energy sector for oil and gas and electric transmission projects. She has conducted environmental inspections of pipelines and compressor stations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana; wetland delineations in Pennsylvania and Indiana; National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Park Service; and environmental permitting and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies. She also has experience in environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation and has received bat survey training.
Ms. Grkman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Environmental Writing at Allegheny College. She has Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) certification from the Society of Wetland Scientists, and is a member of The Wildlife Society.
Skelly and Loy welcomes Maggie Gundermann to its Marketing Department.
Ms. Gundermann is a Marketing Coordinator responsible for proposal support, business development materials, letters of interest, and marketing collateral. She has experience in preparing marketing plans, work plans, and project management, and is currently working on writing proposals and the Marketing Standards and Guidelines Booklet.
Ms. Gundermann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Graphic Design Certificate from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She has been a member of ABC for Associated Builders and Contractors and Young Professional Network.
