“I am pleased to announce that Shawn J. Farr will become Central Penn College’s next chief financial officer (CFO),” said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, president of the college.
Farr has extensive administrative and financial management experience in the public and private sectors, including higher education, K-12 school systems, nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies.
For more than 15 years, he worked in the California State University (CSU) system, holding a variety of positions, including assistant director for business management at CSU, financial advisor for the office of the Chancellor, and CFO for the Foundation at CSU, Fullerton.
After working at the Annenberg Foundation and then the Greater Philadelphia First Foundation, Farr served as the chief operating officer at the Harrisburg City School District, then served as a special assistant to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education, and has been the director of finance and board secretary for the Carlisle Area School District since 2012.
“I am honored and excited to be joining the management team of Central Penn College as its chief financial officer,” said Farr. “Under the dynamic leadership of President Fedrizzi-Williams, the future direction of the college is bright.”
“I’m looking forward to making a difference in the lives of our students as they pursue their educational dreams,” added Farr, who grew up in the Los Angeles area.
Farr resides in Dickinson Township with his wife Shireen. He begins his duties as CFO on Monday, May 6.
