Attorneys Kathryn Maza Courtney and Chelsea Bashi have joined Saxton & Stump along with 10 additional professionals. The additions are aligned with the firm’s strategic plan for 2021 to continue bolstering key practices while offering an innovative level of service to clients. The latest move includes bringing on four technology professionals, four paralegals and client service professionals and two marketing professionals.

New attorneys boost established legal teams
Saxton & Stump’s newest attorneys will support the healthcare litigation and commercial litigation practices. Serving the healthcare field is a strength for the firm. Saxton & Stump was named in the 2020 edition of U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” as a Tier 1 firm in Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants and Tier 2 firm in Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants in Metropolitan Philadelphia. The firm was also ranked Tier 1 Litigation – Health Care in Metropolitan Harrisburg. This marks the third consecutive year that Saxton & Stump has been ranked on the list since the firm’s inception in 2015.
Kathryn D. Maza Courtney, Esq. practices in the firm’s Internal Investigations, Appellate and Post-Trial Advocacy, and Risk Mitigation and Safety groups. She is presently admitted to practice in Delaware only. Courtney assists in the representation of hospitals and healthcare professionals in medical malpractice cases. She also assists in providing advice to hospitals, healthcare professionals and corporations on litigation, appellate and risk mitigation issues, as well as event investigations and policy review. She has a background in corporate law and previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Delaware as a corporate litigation associate. She also clerked for the Honorable Kent A. Jordan at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Courtney received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.A. in political science with a minor in Spanish from Bryn Mawr College.
Chelsea D. Bashi, Esq. focuses her practice in healthcare and commercial litigation. She represents doctors, hospitals, and long-term and post-acute care facilities in medical professional liability cases. She has served as a judicial intern to the Hon. Susan E. Schwab, Chief Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She also gained experience as a law clerk with Latsha Davis & Marshall P.C. in Mechanicsburg, PA. Bashi received her J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
Technological innovation remains a priority for the firm
Mark A. Golicher, CISSP serves as Saxton & Stump’s Director of Information Technology and is focused on strategically enhancing law firm productivity through technology. He leads a growing team of IT professionals who provide the firm’s attorneys and business professionals with critical tools they need to collaborate and serve clients efficiently and effectively. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, he worked for McNees, Wallace & Nurick for 15 years, first as an outside consultant before joining them in-house to oversee the enterprise IT infrastructure.
Golicher previously owned and operated his own Managed Service Provider (MSP) companies, Admisphere, for seven years and Central Penn IT Services for nine years, advising local and global clients. Golicher also currently serves as Director of Information Technology for Granite GRC Consulting, a Saxton & Stump affiliate company providing consulting on corporate governance, risk management, compliance and information security. He received his A.S. in electronic technology from York Technical Institute and holds a number of certifications, including as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Gina M. Piccirilli, CPC, CPB, CPMA is a Senior Consultant, auditor and trainer with over 20 years of experience, including 10 years in management roles working with healthcare organizations. She is an expert in developing innovative claims processes and procedures within the revenue cycle and has experience consulting emergency departments, primary care and multi-specialty facilities. She is currently completing her B.S. in healthcare administration/management from the State University of New York Empire State College.
Anthony G. Harvey is a Software Engineerand brings more than four years of experience building, enhancing and troubleshooting various SaaS platforms and solutions. He is passionate about solving problems using organized and clearly written code. Harvey received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and recently completed a program in Full Stack Web Development from the Flatiron School.
Trevor W. Stull supports Saxton & Stump’s video and animation production team as an Audio Engineering Assistant. Stull earned his B.S. in recording arts from Full Sail University and is Pro Tool 101 certified. During his time at Full Sail University, Trevor gained experience in audio post-production, session recording and mix engineering.
Adding client-centered paralegals, client service professionals
Dana M. Kleckner is an experienced Paralegal/Client Services Professional in the firm’s Malvern office. In this role, she supports the firm’s Healthcare Litigation and Business and Corporate attorneys while fostering an exceptionally positive experience for clients and guests. Kleckner has over 20 years of experience supporting litigation defense attorneys.
Katelyn A. Kaufman is a Paralegal/Client Services Professional in the firm’s Harrisburg office. In this role, she provides support to Saxton & Stump’s Real Estate attorneys, Regulatory and Government Affairs attorneys, and Hospitality attorneys. Kaufman brings several years of experience in the legal industry and has been a practicing paralegal in central Pennsylvania since obtaining her paralegal certificate from Harrisburg Area Community College. She also received her B.A. in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Patricia L. Gartley is a member of Saxton & Stump’s Concierge Services team in Lancaster. She has significant client service experience working in various administrative and client service positions throughout central Pennsylvania. Most recently, she worked for a Lancaster-based real estate company.
Caitlin Graci supports Saxton & Stump’s Concierge Services team in Harrisburg by organizing guest and client visits. Graci has served in various management positions for over 20 years at restaurants and event venues in Harrisburg and Manhattan. Graci is the founder and artistic director for the Bare Bones Theatre Ensemble in Harrisburg. She studied musical theater at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA and theatre arts at Harrisburg Area Community College.
Marketing team welcomes key contributors
Joel A. Gamon develops content for Saxton & Stump and works with Granite Creative Group clients to develop content marketing strategies to help them establish their brand and attract new business. He brings significant content development expertise, specifically for business-to-business (B2B) professional services. He has served as senior editor for an executive education and learning consulting firm and a content strategist for Public Financial Management (PFM), one of the largest independent financial and investment advisory firms in the U.S. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, he developed marketing content in-house for one of the largest independent full-service creative firms in the mid-Atlantic region. He has a B.A. in English from Arcadia University.
Gabriella E. Vreeland supports the implementation of marketing programs and business development strategies for Saxton & Stump. Prior to joining Saxon & Stump, Gabby was a marketing assistant and assistant project manager for a woman-owned construction contractor in Camp Hill, PA. Vreeland earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and began her career as an assistant project manager and safety coordinator for a construction contractor in Mechanicsburg, PA.
