Lancaster County, PA, July 2, 2018 – Saxton & Stump, a Pennsylvania-based law firm, is pleased to announce that four professionals have recently joined the firm, continuing to bolster the growth of the firm’s legal and consulting services.
Janet L. Byrne, MSN, RN, NE-BC joins the firm as Senior Clinical Consultant. Janet has nearly 25 years of clinical and leadership experience. She has spent the last 16 years at the Medical University of South Carolina where she currently serves as Nurse Manager, Medical Intensive Care Unit. Additional roles at MUSC have included Intensive Care Nurse, Burn Center; Clinical Nurse Educator, Medical Intensive Care Unit; and Adjunct Faculty, College of Nursing. Janet is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She’s a graduate of MUSC, Master of Science in Nursing and McMaster University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Karen Sherman joins the firm as a Paralegal/Client Services Professional. She brings 18 years of paralegal experience in the fields of personal injury and insurance defense to Saxton & Stump. She most recently worked as a Paralegal at Forry Ullman, P.C. Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Shippensburg University and later returned to Penn State University to obtain her Paralegal Certification.
Kerri J. Smith joins the firm as an Intellectual Property Paralegal. She has more than 17 years of paralegal and legal assistant experience handling domestic and foreign client relationships, preparing appeals to the U.S. Patent Office, and overseeing paperwork for inventors and applicants to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She was most recently an Intellectual Property Paralegal at McNees Wallace & Nurick where she has worked since 2001. Kerri is a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College.
Mackenzie Christiana joins the firm as Marketing Copywriter. Mackenzie brings copywriting, public relations and communications experience to Saxton & Stump. During her time in college, Mackenzie worked as the Copy Editor and Administrative Assistant for “Adventure WV” and Campus Recreation at WVU and served as the Public Information Intern at the Monongalia County Health Department. She accelerated her education and will graduate magna cum laudewith a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, a focus in public relations, and minors in Interactive Media Design and Communication Studies in August 2018.
