Saxton & Stump attorney Kiandra D. Steffy has been named to the National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 under 40, a recognition given by invitation only to influential African American lawyers from across the country who excel in their respective practice areas and promote diversity.
The National Black Lawyers (NBL) is a professional organization founded to promote legal excellence and equality and provides its members with professional resources as well as access to a national network of attorneys who are passionate about sharing their knowledge. Individuals are selected based on their reputation and notable professional achievements.
Steffy focuses her law practice in labor and employment, Title IX and commercial litigation. She represents employers in the investigation of allegations of discrimination, harassment and other types of workplace misconduct. She also has experience handling complex and sensitive campus investigations and assists higher education entities with reviewing their Title IX policies and procedures.
As a participant of the Clemency Project 2014, which allows non-violent, low-level offenders to receive pro bono representation, Steffy successfully petitioned for an incarcerated individual to receive a commuted sentence after being granted clemency by former President Barack Obama. She is the first member of the National Bar Association to file a successful petition for clemency.
Steffy is an active member of the Lancaster community and has served in many leadership roles. She is on the Board of Trustees for The New School of Lancaster and formerly served as Chair of the Junior Board of Directors for Girls on the Run of Lancaster.
