Safwat Gassis, M.D., earns Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society distinction

CAMP HILL, Pa. – Safwat Gassis, M.D., FACC, Holy Spirit Cardiology–A Geisinger Affiliate, has earned the distinction of being named a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).
The FHRS designation distinguishes health care providers for their advanced training, certification, and specialization in the field of cardiac arrhythmia research and treatment, and serves as a credential for quality care.
Dr. Gassis earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. He completed his residency and cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology training at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Gassis is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist who offers the most advanced treatment options for heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation. He also serves as the medical director of the Holy Spirit Atrial Fibrillation Center. Dr. Gassis performed Pennsylvania’s first balloon cryoablation procedure to treat atrial fibrillation after its approval by the FDA and is actively involved in research aimed to improve treatment options for heart rhythm disorders.
