Gettysburg, Pa. – Barley Snyder announces the hire of Robert L. McQuaide, a Gettysburg attorney with more than four decades of experience in the Adams County area.
McQuaide, who joined the more than 90-attorney law firm on July 1, will be part of the firm’s Education and Personal Planning practice groups and will remain based out of Gettysburg. He has served as the solicitor of Gettysburg Area School District as well as the Upper Adams School District since the 1970s. He also has served as a special counsel dozens of times for at least 10 school districts in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and York counties.
A mainstay in one of Pennsylvania’s most historic areas, McQuaide has been practicing law in Gettysburg since 1975 and opened his own firm in 1999 in the bustling downtown.
“Joining Barley Snyder is as exciting as it is beneficial to my practice,” he said. “The high level of resources it possesses as one of the largest firms in central Pennsylvania is well-documented, and it provided me a strategic opportunity to grow my practice. I am pleased to call Barley Snyder’s impressive roster of attorneys my colleagues.”
His hiring is a strategic move to help Barley Snyder further expand in the Gettysburg and Adams County areas. The firm expects to have additional Gettysburg expansion details in the coming weeks.
Barley Snyder managing partner Jeff Lobach said McQuaide’s experience speaks volumes about the talent Barley Snyder can attract.
“Bob’s reputation inside and outside of Adams County is impeccable,” he said. “To have him choose to join us is a testament to the reputation Barley Snyder has established throughout its footprint, and in particular, during the year we’ve had an active presence in downtown Gettysburg. Adams County is an important piece of the regional law firm model we’ve established, and Bob will help to continue the success we’ve experienced.”
McQuaide’s hire brings the firm’s attorney head count to 92, with more hires expected by the end of summer.
