Central Pennsylvania-based RLS Construction Group was selected to provide general construction services for new clinic spaces at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, in Martinsburg, WV. The new OEF/OIF clinic, named for Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom, is designated to assist service members returning from combat deployments in re-adjusting to home, as well as addressing other post-deployment issues.
“The updated clinic spaces at the Martinsburg VA will help so many of our returning veterans get back into the swing of life back home,” said Robert Schopfer, President and CEO of RLS Construction Group. “When these men and women return, after serving in dangerous and violent parts of the world, making the transition back to a more normal life is filled with challenges.”
The project involves a complete renovation of the 2A Wing, which will create a new suite featuring reception and waiting areas, a group therapy room, two (2) exam rooms, nine (9) patient interview rooms/staff offices, supply and utility rooms, storage space, public restrooms, and hospital swing space. The finished clinic will create a welcoming atmosphere designed to treat the specialized healthcare needs of veterans returning from active combat deployments.
“The new clinic will help to deal directly with the specific issues our combat veterans face and help them return to whole, happy and productive lives with their families,” said Schopfer. “It is truly an honor and a privilege for RLS to help make that possible.”
