Central Pennsylvania-based RLS Construction Group was selected by the Department of Veterans Affairs for a project at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. The project involves general construction services related to the replacement of the CT Scan equipment, located on the 3rd floor of the medical center facility.
“We have been part of many projects, throughout the VA system,” said Robert Schopfer, President and CEO of RLS Construction Group. “Working at the Philadelphia VA gives us an opportunity to continue our support of the VA’s mission, providing our veterans with quality healthcare.”
The extent of the work includes alterations, selective demolition, and upgrade of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Additionally, RLS removed and replaced specific structures and equipment, allowing the space to accommodate a new government-supplied CT scanner. The project was completed with minimal disruption to this busy medical center.
“The upgrade of this equipment is important to the medical center staff, so they can do their jobs effectively,” said Schopfer. “That translates into better healthcare for the patients and assists the staff with a more comprehensive diagnostic tool, raising the overall level of service.”
