Harrisburg, PA — Reynolds, a full-service building solutions provider based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, recently completed construction of the new $6 million, 16,000-square-foot Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The conservatory, which opened to the public on July 1, 2016, includes a year-round indoor tropical Butterfly Atrium, Welcome Pavilion, and Educational & Horticultural Wing, as well as an overlook and terrace.
Visitors will enjoy sweeping views of the town of Hershey and the gardens from the outside, and more than 500 native and exotic species of butterflies dancing around 1,300 tropical plants on the inside. A sophisticated HVAC and building management system keeps the Butterfly Atrium at a constant 80 degrees and 70 percent humidity year-round.
“As one of only 25 year-round tropical butterfly atriums in the country, the conservatory will offer unique educational opportunities to our community,” said David Angle, CEO of Reynolds. “We are proud to be a part of the team that brought this distinctive and exciting attraction to Central Pennsylvania.”
