PRworks Welcomes Gorbey as Coordinator and Designer

PRworks, a full-service public relations and marketing firm in Harrisburg, today announced the addition of Lauren Gorbey to its team of branding, communications and marketing professionals.

Gorbey joins PRworks as a coordinator and designer. She graduated magna cum laude from York College of Pennsylvania in 2019, earning a double-major bachelor’s degree in public relations and graphic design with a double-minor in visual communications and advertising. Her expertise includes research, brand development, social media, email marketing, advertising, community outreach, events, web design and graphic design.

After earning her degree, she worked for the downtown revitalization nonprofit Main Street Hanover, where she was a part-time coordinator during her undergraduate studies. While at Main Street Hanover, Gorbey managed the downtown Hanover brand; maintained relationships with over 50 downtown businesses; developed and implemented a downtown event series; led fundraising efforts; and served on four organizational committees. She also acted as interim executive director for three months. Through her efforts, Main Street Hanover doubled business participation in its programs and increased downtown event attendance over 60 percent.

“Lauren is passionate about fusing together marketing, communication and design to transform ideas into tangible results,” said Jason Kirsch, APR, partner and senior counselor with PRworks. “She brings to PRworks a fresh creative energy and a broad set of talents that will benefit long-time clients as well as new partnerships that are on the horizon. She also is a perfect fit with our values and entrepreneurial culture, which is built on integrity, trust, collaboration, attention to detail and continuous learning.”

Gorbey also previously worked as a graphic designer for Lancaster-based Clark Associates, one of the largest food service equipment, supply and service companies in the United States. Additionally, she interned with LeadingAgePA, a trade association representing over 360 senior housing, healthcare and community-service providers across Pennsylvania.

In the fall of 2019, Gorbey was awarded second place in the annual juried graphic design and fine arts exhibition at York College.
