HARRISBURG, Pa. (March 30, 2016) – PinnacleHealth Medical Group is partnering with HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, to provide training specific to becoming a physician office assistant. Students will take a variety of classes for a better understanding of medical insurance, electronic medical records and general workflow of an outpatient medical practice.
In addition, students will complete a 160-hour externship with PinnacleHealth Medical Group working in a front office of a primary care practice, specialty practice or access call center. Those successfully completing the externship will be considered for employment at PinnacleHealth.
“As the PinnacleHealth Medical Group grows, we have an increasing need for office support in our physician practices. Having job candidates uniquely trained for the medical practice setting will help build our medical group teams to provide the highest quality service and care to our patients,” states Laura Wagner, COO, PinnacleHealth Medical Group.
Interested students can enroll now. Classes start on May 23, 2016, at HACC’s Harrisburg and Lebanon campuses.
