NEED A SUMMER INTERN? HIRE A HARRISBURG STUDENT TODAY!

The Chamber & CREDC is collaborating with the City of Harrisburg, Harrisburg School District, and the Community Action Commission to encourage regional businesses to hire an intern for the summer from the City School District.  The internship would be a 6 to 8 week experience and would be paid by the business.  The program has set a modest goal to host 50 student interns over the summer.  We believe this goal can easily be reached and likely doubled.  The internships would provide meaningful work experience for jobs in any number of fields designed to provide a summer job, to expose young people to various career opportunities, and to teach them personal financial management through a program to be provided by the Community Action Commission.

If you are interested in hiring a young person for a paid internship over the summer, please contact the City through the website below.  You can establish your own qualifications for your position.  Young people participating in the program will range from 14 to 25, but will have limited work experience.

Questions can be directed to: Karl Singleton in City Hall (ksingleton@cityofhbg.com) or by calling 255-3050 or 736-1461.

Chamber & CREDC staff will also be available to help answer questions in advance of submitting your information to the City by contacting Larissa Bailey at lbailey@hbgrc.org or calling 213-5041.

Smaller businesses or not-for-profits could even team up and share an intern.  Our most valuable resource is our children.  Help develop tomorrow’s workforce today.  Thank you for your consideration.
