Mid Penn Bank Names Groves Special Advisor to CEO

MILLERSBURG, Pa. (April 2, 2015) – Mid Penn Bank today announced that George H. Groves has been named special advisor to President and CEO Rory G. Ritrievi.
Groves previously served as President and CEO of Schuylkill County based Miners Bank, subsidiary of Phoenix Bancorp, Inc. which finalized its merger with Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. on March 1. In his new role, Groves will assist with a variety of projects from time to time as deemed necessary by Ritrievi.

Groves has an extensive background in banking and has spent the majority of his career in executive management roles. Prior to joining Miners Bank in 2009, Groves founded Legacy Bank of Harrisburg, leading as chairman and CEO from 1998 to 2007. Groves holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
As a result of the Mid Penn and Phoenix merger, Mid Penn now operates a total of 19 retail locations in Central Pennsylvania. The consolidated assets of the combined company are valued at approximately $875 million.
