Members 1st Federal Credit Union’s President & CEO, George Nahodil, presented four local college students with a $2,500 scholarship in recognition of the credit union’s annual Education Awards Program.
The recipients included Alyssa Fallon, human resources recipient from Penn State University; Brandon Leger, information technology services recipient from Penn State University; Ella Moores, marketing recipient from Susquehanna University; and Taylor Zampelli, finance recipient from Shippensburg University.
The students received news at the beginning of the year that they had been selected to participate in the Education Awards Program. To protect the students’ and associates’ safety, Members 1st made the decision to forego the in-person twelve-week internship. The credit union felt it was important to honor the students’ efforts, so a check presentation was held at the beginning of August so that the students could receive their scholarship and hear from Members 1st’s President & CEO. The four internship opportunities originally offered to applicants were within the Marketing, Information Technology Services, Human Resources and Finance departments.
To be eligible for the annual award, applicants must be members of Members 1st Federal Credit Union and undergraduate students currently attending an accredited college, university or technical school. Preference is given to students from central Pennsylvania, majoring in a business-related field. The award consists of a paid twelve-week internship and a $2,500 scholarship. Four recipients are selected during the fall semester and begin their internship the immediate summer following the fall semester in which they were chosen.
