Hamilton Health Center of Allison Hill in Harrisburg will soon be expanding new services to its residents.
In partnership with the Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and Hamilton Health Center, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Regional Economic Development Corp (CREDC) has helped facilitate the environmental remediation of the former Allison Hill Automotive property. The currently vacant site will be transformed into a two-story addition for the current Hamilton Health Center.
The Hamilton Health Center 30,000 square-foot expansion has plans to include patient services and medical office space. The new expansion will allow Hamilton Health Center to grow their service offerings and continue serving the residents of Harrisburg.
On July 19, 2018, Gov. Tom Wolf announced approved funding as requested by CREDC and the HRA from the Industrial Sites Reuse Program (ISRP) for the cleanup of the 2.3-acre former automotive site. The granted $911,113 will be used to remove and dispose of large amounts of contaminated soil at the site to allow for construction to begin.
CREDC has worked with Hamilton Health in the past to administer a Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program (RACP) grant to fund the construction of a new facility at 110 South 17th Street in South Allison Hill.
