HARRISBURG (August 17, 2016) – The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC will celebrate the 75th anniversary of America’s first superhighway, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, at their annual Transportation Briefing on Tuesday, August 23rd, 8AM at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg (1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill). The event will feature a keynote address from Mark Compton, Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike – America’s first-four lane, limited access highway – has undergone many changes since it opened in 1940. The PA Turnpike is always being innovated & modernized to ensure that it remains a safe, reliable transportation system for its travelers. Compton will update the regional business community on the roadway’s recent improvements and share his vision for its exciting future.
