Job Description:

Saxton & Stump is seeking an entry-to-mid level associate lawyer with excellent litigation skills to join our growing firm. The successful candidate will work in the areas of general commercial litigation and medical professional liability defense. Hon. Lawrence F. Stengel (Ret.), former Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will provide a degree of mentorship and leadership to the person in this position. Key Responsibilities:

The Litigation Associate will assist with pre-trial activities such as drafting pleadings and motions, preparing and responding to written discovery, attending depositions, hearings, motions and mediations. The Litigation Associate will also be actively involved in trial preparation including research, case strategy development, jury selection, and will attend trial to assist with presenting cases.

 

Requirements:

–        Barred in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

–        2-6 years’ experience: preferred in commercial litigation or medical professional liability

–        A current assistant district attorney or public defender would also be considered for this position

Location:

The position will be based out of Saxton & Stump’s Harrisburg office with occasional travel to the firm’s Lancaster and Malvern offices. Additional travel necessary as required by casework.
