Job Description:

This position supports the Corporate Communications & Community Relations team with media relations, writing, content collection, and social media initiatives. The role will focus on the Hershey Jobs brand and be responsible for generating awareness for available positions across the company, pitching media, creating engaging content for social media, and writing press materials. This is a hybrid position which will require onsite work.

Job Functions
(Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

Support Hershey Jobs brand by writing press materials (media alerts, talking points, press releases) related to job fairs or other hiring events, and pitching media to generate awareness for hiring events, available positions, and jobs-related initiatives.*
Conduct press interviews (after training), and attend and participate in press events across the company, including escorting media at job fairs/hiring events, as needed.*
Support and collaborate with the HR recruitment team and Marketing department to promote targeted jobs, internships, etc.*
Create innovative content, including video and graphics, for all Hershey Jobs social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to engage current and potential employees. Monitor social media during off-hours and weekends, as needed.*
Write stories (including employee profiles, hiring updates, etc.) for the company’s Hub (*
Assist the Managing Director, Corporate Communications & Community Relations with Hershey Bears Cares initiatives and other community-focused programs by providing writing and event support.*
Assist the Manager, Organizational Communications with internal communications and community relations functions, including writing, event support, and job updates, in order to maintain accurate and consistent information across teams and channels.*
Maintain knowledge of current PR and social media trends, especially in the digital space. Be proficient in our company’s history and understand all of our brands.*
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of Public Relations/Social Media/Hospitality/Tourism AND/OR related experience. (can include college internship)
18 years of age or older.
Must have a valid Drivers’ License.
Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Qualifications:

Understand the role of influencer communications/relations.
Must have a passion for PR, social media, and communications.
Be proficient in tools used by the team including Cision, Sprout, and PressPage.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and/or Google Office Suite.
Eagerness to learn the industry and our company’s unique history.
Must be a strong writer and presenter with a strong presence.
Must be collaborative and a team player.
