Job Description:

The Golf Intern is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional and Golf Services Manager in executing all golf operations at Hershey Country Club, located in Hershey, PA.

Inside Scoop:

This internship is available starting in the spring/summer through fall depending upon availability.
Potential for additional income through tournament gratuities and instructing golf lessons.
Job Functions:

Implementing and enforcing policies, procedures, and golf course regulations
Overseeing the reservation system, handicap system, starting, and monitoring of play
Tracking and verifying guests, golf carts, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges
Working with Golf Services Manager and Head Golf Professional to develop an innovative tournament program that services all customer segments
Handling all cash, credit card, transactions
Performing shop opening and closing duties
Exhibiting thorough product knowledge and upselling techniques to guests
Inspecting merchandise to insure quality prior to sale
Following safety and cleanliness standards
Schedule starting times for golfers and performing other duties as assigned
Professional Golf Management (PGM) interns are responsible for learning the inside operations as well as golf instruction, junior clinics, and tournament operation
Responsible with maintaining your progress with PGM assignments during the internship
Basic Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Must be enrolled in the PGA of America Professional Training Program
Additional Qualifications:

Keyboarding skills and PC familiarity
Professional image representative of property image
Exceptional guest service, communication, problem solving, and organization skills
Adept at handling cash transactions
Proficient in the English language (speaking, reading, and writing)

Working Conditions:

Physical requirements include walking, sitting, viewing a computer screen, finger dexterity, and communicating clearly.
Schedule will vary according to operating needs, but will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedule will be 40 hours per week.
Physical requirements include standing at least 95% of the shift, communicating clearly, walking, bending, and pushing and lifting up to 35 pounds.
