Currently seeking a dynamic Fleet Manager to join the team in a family owned and operated Company that has been in business for over 40 years. The Fleet & Safety Manager will administer policies related to all phases of safety, training and fleet operations.

Responsibilities of Fleet & Safety Manager:
Coordinates and implements safety training programs and schedules
Leads and coordinates the safety committee.
Assist Management in implementation of fleet maintenance software system. Train employees on how to utilize the system. Ensure all vehicles are safe, properly registered, inspected and insured. Provide reporting on truck maintenance costs.
Proactively coach employees in all facets of safety performance: compliance; behavior; accident avoidance and driver safety training.
Administers Accident Investigation Program and complete follow-up.
Oversees the drug and alcohol program.
Runs MVRs and Drug Clearinghouse queries on all drivers annually and at time of new hire. Monitor driving experience of employees. Ensure CDL drivers are compliant with state and federal requirements.
Complies with all state and federal regulations.
Consistently reinforces safety messages by conducting behavioral observations, safety briefings, department meetings, and facility safety walk-throughs. Ensures a safe work environment.
Develops and distributes education materials to employees and customers. Sends duty to warn notices to all customers annually.
Implement, manage and update safety manual. Develop additional policies and procedures as necessary.
Conducts and documents annual safety training at offsite locations
Perform other tasks assigned by manager to provide general support to the company.

Requirements of Fleet and Safety Manager
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry with an emphasis on motor carrier safety rules. Must have knowledge and/or involvement with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and HAZMAT regulatory requirements (both state and Federal level).
CDL Class A or B would be ideal for first hand driving experience
Strong Mechanical background to understand truck safety and align with mechanics
