We are humbly honored to have been awarded the 2020 Retailer of the Year by the National Home Furnishings Association, a selection from over 7000 home furnishings storefronts across the nation.
Who would have guessed that in a year of such global uncertainty, we would receive national recognition for laser-focusing on how we could make the most impact right here at home, providing safe and inspiring stores for our team and customers while supporting our Central PA community. We thank all who have supported our family-owned, locally grown business.
The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) is proud to announce Interiors Home, with stores in Lancaster and Camp Hill, Pa., as its 2020 Retailer of the Year in the category of retail stores with more than 50 employees.
Interiors Home was founded in 1969 by Lillian Lehman to meet Lancaster’s need for high-quality, fashionable home furnishings and building strong, personal relationships within the community.
HFA plans to honor Interiors Home with an in-store celebration on March 18th while adhering to social distancing and other COVID-19 restrictions. The local community is also encouraged to congratulate their hometown retailer.
“We’re excited that Interiors Home is one of our 2020 Retailers of the Year,” HFA CEO Mark Schumacher congratulated. “The fundamentals of a family business are evident whenever anyone talks with Interiors Home CEO Todd Lehman. He speaks proudly of his entire team. They embody a strong, cohesive spirit that shows through all they do that is exemplified in strong store operations, stellar customer service, and support of their community.”
Lehman notes that monitoring their reputation and all aspects of the customer experience is the hallmark of success for Interiors Home. As the pandemic evolved, Interiors Home immediately expanded online sales, remote work, virtual meetings, and virtual design consultations.
“Encouraging community involvement and uniting the team behind a common purpose makes a positive difference for all, both professionally and personally,” Lehman says. The community initiatives that Interiors Home is incredibly proud of are their efforts for The American Red Cross TOTES OF HOPE Program for Homeless and At-Risk Veterans, support for their local food bank, and even offering customers free gift certificates to local restaurants to aid the culinary community during these tough economic times.
The home furnishings industry nominated HFA members based on their exceptional examples of philanthropy, technology, customer experience, mentoring, sustainability, and store culture. A panel of judges comprised of members of HFA’s Board of Directors, HFA members; Past ROTY Winners; manufacturers; service providers/suppliers; and members of the industry media voted on the nomination.
