Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is pleased to announce that Geoffrey M. Roche, Executive Director of Strategic Healthcare Initiatives, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the South Central Workforce Investment Board (SCPa Works).

SCPa Works Funds employment and training programs that empower job seekers to obtain new skills and career opportunities and allow businesses to build talent pipelines to help meet workforce demands across southcentral Pennsylvania. The nonprofit operates six PA CareerLink® sites that serves tens of thousands of Pennsylvania residents each year. SCPa Works invests nearly $14 million into employment and training programs for youth and adults annually. Roche began his appointment Thursday.

A champion of the community, Roche said he looks forward to helping SCPa Works advance the region.

Roche has volunteered and has been appointed to serve on numerous local, state, and national committees and taskforces, including the Health Equity Task Force of the National Infrastructure for Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 within Racial and Ethnic Minority Communities (NIMIC) initiative, the Pennsylvania Department of Health Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee, the Lebanon County Economic Recovery Taskforce Leadership Team, and more.
