The Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Board of Directors announced each organization’s 2020 Board Chairs and new board members. Tom Sposito will serve as the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors Chair and Benjamin C. Dunlap, Jr. of Nauman Smith will serve as the CREDC Board of Directors Chair throughout 2020.

“We’re lucky to have bold leaders from a diverse range of businesses and backgrounds to lead our boards,” said David Black, President and CEO of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC. “We expect 2020 to be one of our biggest years yet, and we are thrilled to have Tom and Ben help us lead our organizations as we support business growth and development in the Harrisburg region.”

Tom Sposito

Sposito is a lifelong resident of Central Pennsylvania, having led a number of financial institutions throughout the region. His 35 years in banking has included several roles in executive management, such as President and CEO of Pennsylvania State Bank and Sterling Financial, and most recently SEVP at S&T Bank. Sposito has also served on a number of boards, including the Chamber & CREDC, MS, Diabetes, United Way, Penn State University’s Children’s Hospital Development Board, and others.

Sposito earned his BS in Finance from Penn State, and his MBA from Lebanon Valley College. He lives in Manheim, Lancaster County, with his wife Kathy and five sons. He is currently spending his time focusing on his family, friends and philanthropy.

Benjamin Dunlap

Dunlap is a managing partner at Nauman Smith, a Harrisburg-based law firm, which will celebrate 150 years of practice in 2021. He brings considerable experience to his practice, concentrating in business and employment law as well as rail and transportation issues. He serves companies ranging in size from startups to major national corporations and nonprofits as well as public utility and related work for railroad clients.

Dunlap earned an AV Preeminent® Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating in administrative and employment/labor law and litigation, making him part of a select group of lawyers ranked by their peers at the highest level of professional excellence.  In addition to his work with CREDC, he is on the Board of MANTEC, a full-service manufacturing consulting organization in South Central Pennsylvania.  He is a magna cum laude graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in journalism and a graduate of the Dickinson School of Law, where he was a member of the Woolsack Honor Society.

“I am excited to help lead an organization that does so much work for our region,” Dunlap said. “As we look to the start of the CREDC Campaign this year, we look forward to sharing the incredible economic impact CREDC has made in our region. In the last 19 years, CREDC has secured $176 million in public assistance for 448 clients, leading to local businesses creating and retaining nearly 15,000 jobs. We can’t wait to see what the impact will be this year.”

The Chamber & CREDC also added new business leaders to their boards. The new board members elected for 2020 include the following.
