Great American Outdoor Show and four other major events are projected to generate an estimated $75 million in economic impact for the region’s economy in February according to local tourism officials.

Harrisburg, PA – The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau (HHRVB) announced today that they are projecting positive results from the 2nd Annual Great American Outdoor Show (GAOS), according to the initial indicators the bureau uses to calculate the economic impact of major events they bring to the region. Tourism officials however will not release a final report on the results of the show for several weeks as they continue to compile the results from lodging partners, venue officials, and the show producer. Last year the 2014 Great American Outdoor Show generated $70 million for the regional economy.

 

Tourism officials did however release anticipated results and economic impacts from four other major events associated with the bureau taking place in the Hershey & Harrisburg Region this February.

HHRVB & Hershey Entertainment & Resorts secured this event for a 4-year commitment concluding in 2016.

Estimated Economic Impact per year: $483,762

Total Economic Impact for 4-Years: $1.95 million

 

Reflections Synchro Invitational Annual Event

Estimated Attendance: 4,000 (including 83 teams)

Estimated Economic Impact per year: $2 million

Total Economic Impact for 5-Years: $10 million

 

Keystone Regional Volleyball Boys Zonal Championships – New in 2015

February 28 – March 1, 2015

HHRVB recently announced this annual championship event was secured for a 3-Year commitment starting in 2015 and returning in 2016 & 2017.

Estimated Economic Impact: $1.6 million

Total Economic Impact for 3-Years: $4.8 million
