Harrisburg, Pa – (December 7, 2016) Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania (VROCP) will be partnering with Keystone Correctional Services. Inc. in a new business endeavor that promises to support the mission of both organizations, and the individuals they serve. The two organizations will be acting as the manufacturers of ceramic tile products for an established business, Inglenook Tiles. It is planned to have the production venture underway by the end of 2016.
For VROCP, a non-profit that generates approximately 80% of its revenue from its businesses, this opportunity represents another source of income to pay for its programs and services to the blind and visually impaired. Keystone Correctional Services is excited because the business will provide hands-on business training for parolee residents of the state correctional system. Understanding the aspects of how a business operates, developing transferable skills and building steps-to-success are all intended to prevent as many parolees as possible from becoming repeat offenders in the future. VROCP Business Services is a proud employer of individuals with disabilities and the new tile manufacturing will provide the same opportunity for Keystone Correctional Services residents.
Keystone Correctional Services has been a privately operated business going on eight years and is located in Dauphin County. VROCP is a 95 year old non-profit organization headquartered in Harrisburg that supports Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Perry Counties. VROCP Executive Director, Danette Blank and Keystone Correctional Services owner/CEO, Terry Davis, share the same excitement for the possibilities that are on the horizon. Everyone involved sees it as a win-win situation for the individuals and communities of the South Central region.
The goal of Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania is to raise the quality of life for the blind, visually impaired and otherwise disabled in the region and to provide prevention services to all.
