HARRISBURG, PA — GK Visual, a Harrisburg-based video production company, has expanded its operation on the cusp of its 10 year anniversary, according to Nate Kresge, co-owner and executive producer.
Kresge said the company has purchased a new office building in Midtown Harrisburg, where they will relocate in early 2016. Local writer Sara Bozich also has been hired as a part-time producer and writer, bringing the GK Visual staff to a total of five employees.
GK Visual’s 10 year anniversary will be marked by a private party at Midtown Cinema and ZerØday Brewing Company, where guests will sample a custom beer called GKX that Kresge’s team helped brew and age.
“This is an exciting time, and I’m so proud of what our team has accomplished in these 10 years,” Kresge said. “Being able to toast our clients with a unique beer in thanks for allowing us to share their stories over the last decade is humbling. And with our recent growth, we hope this provides more opportunities to share even more.”
About GKX: GK Visual brewed a Belgian-style strong ale with ZerØday’s brewer, Theo Armstrong. The beer was aged in two different Willet whiskey barrels as well as stainless steel.
“We traveled to Kentucky a few years ago and shot some work for Willet, so when it came time to purchase barrels for this beer, we thought it would be fun to incorporate them,” Kresge said.
GKX was aged in one rye barrel, one bourbon and the rest stainless steel. Guests will be able to sample all three at the private event. The remaining beer will go on tap at ZerØday following the event.
On Dec. 26, ZerØday also will feature a firkin of the non-barrel-aged GKX on char from 1792 bourbon barrels. This event will be open to the public.
About the building: GK Visual recently purchased a 7,000 sq ft building in Midtown Harrisburg. Kresge said they have been outgrowing their current space.
“This new building provides us the opportunity to hire more people and gives us room to grow — which we were unable to do in the previous space,” Kresge said.
The building, which nearly triples their current office in Uptown Harrisburg, will be operational in the new year, and plans for the three-story building include a studio, as well as client meeting space. Kresge said the additional space also provides the opportunity for an internship program.
“Down the road, we may want to hire another photographer/videographer and even another editor,” Kresge said. “The new building will be accommodate that kind of growth.”
About Sara Bozich: Bozich has been working with GK Visual for more than three years in a variety of freelance roles. Together, they co-created the web series, “What’s on Tap,” and the local craft beer documentary, “Brewed in the Burg.”
“We’ve worked with Sara for so long now and needed to fill a more regular role for a producer, production manager and writer,” Kresge said. “Sara is a natural fit for our team, and we hope her role will expand as time moves on.”
