Free Family Fun Festival This Weekend

HARRISBURG, PA (September 15, 2015) – The inaugural Central Penn Parent Family Festival York will be held this Saturday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cousler Park in Manchester Township, York County.
Families from throughout the midstate region are invited to attend and enjoy free entertainment, including a petting zoo, “Talk Like a Pirate Day” treasure hunt, pony rides, bounce houses, story time, costumed characters, a fire truck, as well as games and crafts provided by more than 75 exhibitors.
The event will also feature live, also free, performances from Magical Nick, Billy Kelly and the Blahblahblahs, Adam Swartz Puppets, Kids in the Kitchen and Zumba for Kids!
Kids are encouraged to bring their stuffed animals for a wellness check-up from the staff at Memorial Hospital, which is also presenting sponsor of the Festival. Attendees can also bring a picnic lunch or purchase food from some of the many local food trucks.
The event is produced by Central Penn Parent, an award-winning monthly family publication focused on providing valuable information on parenting. Parent, a division of Journal Multimedia, has hosted a similar Family Festival events annually in Harrisburg since 2009 and in Lancaster since 2013.
An exhibitor from past Family Festivals says of the event: “It’s a great way to bring the community together. Watching the families having such a good time is always worthwhile.”
“I’m not sure why any local family wouldn’t be at this event to enjoy all the free activities for kids,” said one past attendee.
