Danville Ambulance Service merges with Holy Spirit EMS

CAMP HILL, Pa. – Holy Spirit–A Geisinger Affiliate announced today that Danville Ambulance Service merged with West Shore Advanced Life Support Services, Inc. (doing business as Holy Spirit EMS–A Geisinger Affiliate) so the two organizations can better care for the communities they serve and support the local ambulance service’s presence well into the future.
“EMS as an industry has been growing by leaps and bounds and this partnership positions us to match the quality and breadth of services provided in many metropolitan areas,” says Kathy Robinson, president, Danville Ambulance Service. “Holy Spirit EMS is renowned for the service it provides to the community and that is what we continually strive for here in Danville and surrounding areas.”
The Danville Ambulance Service, which will retain its current name, mission and services, employs 25 EMTs and 16 paramedics. The merger will provide the staff and community with increased resources, vehicle upgrades over time and new technology in the field, according to Paul Christophel, executive director, Holy Spirit EMS.
“We are also working with the clinical and support staff to ensure a smooth transition for the Danville employees and will provide a working environment that enables optimum performance and service,” Christophel says. “Danville Ambulance has a great reputation for providing quality service. We are committed to continuous quality improvement to assure future sustainability in the communities they serve.”
Holy Spirit EMS has 150 employees, including 56 EMTs and 62 paramedics, who provide services in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Perry and Northern York counties. Its fleet of 35 vehicles is housed in 11 stations. Services offered include emergency medical services, non-emergency medical services, ALS, BLS, routine medical transportation and EMS billing services.
