CREDC Supports Aroogas As They Equip For Success

Aroogas Grill House & Sports Bar, a locally owned restaurant enterprise with multiple restaurants around central Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, is ready to face the challenges that come along with continuing success. The owners Mike Murphy and Gary Huether have been examining their menu, operations and cost of doing business closely and have decided they can achieve some efficiency without sacrificing the “made from scratch” differentiation they bring to their menu. Therefore, it has been decided to purchase real estate and centralize the preparation of various menu items for the sake of consistency and efficiency.  They anticipate saving many man hours from each restaurant location by centralizing the preparation of key but labor intensive food items. The state of the art facility puts Aroogas’ central headquarters, a full service restaurant training facility and an efficient preparation kitchen all under one roof.

The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (Chamber & CREDC) helped Aroogas secure a 7 year fixed rate 2.75% PIDA loan for $673,440. The financing benefited Aroogas for the purchase and renovation of the new building located at 1591 South 19th Street, Harrisburg PA, 17104. In addition Aroogas benefited from a $901,560 loan from First National Bank to finance equipment purchases, the company and owners invested another $150,346 into the project.  With the expansion Aroogas anticipates to create at least 14 new full time jobs in the next three years.

Aroogas’ new project is a perfect illustration of how locally owned business’ can meet their needs by accessing affordable business financing. The Chamber & CREDC is pleased to be a part of Aroogas’ story by facilitating access to low interest fixed rate financing provided by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA). Opportunities such as this give borrowers the capacity and potential to make a larger impact within the region. The Chamber & CREDC is excited to see how Aroogas will continue to grow and impact the community while preserving their made from scratch taste and feel.conference2-2
