Harrisburg, PA – April 21, 2017 – Conrad Siegel Actuaries, delivering comprehensive employee benefits services, is proud to announce that partner and consulting actuary Abigail Fortino, ASA, has been named to the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2017 Women of Influence List. This recognition honors Fortino’s career accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to mentorship and community service.
At Conrad Siegel, Fortino leads the defined benefit team, overseeing the development of clients’ defined benefit retirement plans and equipping the firm’s consultants to deliver high-quality, individualized service to each client. Fortino works with both private sector employers and tax-exempt organizations to provide actuarial valuations for defined benefit plans, post-retirement medical plans and related defined benefit pension projections. She specializes in helping new defined benefit clients move smoothly through the complex process of switching to a new retirement provider, and the defined benefit plan termination process.
Additionally, Fortino leads new business efforts for the defined benefit team. Under her leadership, the defined benefit team accounted for one-third of the firm’s overall growth in 2016.
“Abby’s leadership and business instincts continue to help move our firm forward. She pushes her team to think creatively and help clients solve their unique employee benefit challenges,” said John Jeffrey, partner and consulting actuary with Conrad Siegel Actuaries. “She has also played a significant role in the firm’s growth over the past few years. Her ability to identify new business opportunities and follow through on the process adds a value that cannot be overstated.”
In addition to her accomplishments at Conrad Siegel, Fortino is actively involved in the Harrisburg community. She serves as a volunteer coach with Capital Area Girls on the Run, an after-school youth development program that empowers pre-teen girls to grow in confidence, character, and service to the community. Fortino also serves on the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) Advisory Council for the United Way of the Capital Region, and is a committee member for the organization’s Youth Day of Caring, leading volunteer mobilization efforts. Additionally, Fortino is a graduate of the Leadership Harrisburg Class of 2014 and a former recipient of the Central Penn Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 awards.
The Central Penn will honor Fortino and fellow award recipients on June 26 at the Hilton Harrisburg. For more information on the Women of Influence awards and to see the complete list of honorees, please visit www.cpbj.com/section/Women-of-Influence-Awards.
